I started this whole “create your own brand” journey back in August 2023 and promptly forgot it existed, because #momlife. Or #millennialmomlife.
Okay, here’s what really happened. My boyfriend and I were talking about writing and he gave me an amazing idea for a novel and I dove in REAL hard. He’s an extremely avid litRPG reader/audio book listener (p.s. listening to books is still reading, fight me). He gave me a few suggestions and I fell in love with a lot of the genre.
So, long story short, I decided to start writing a litRPG novel. And I am absolutely stoked on it because here’s the fun part – it’s smutty. It’s smutty and hilarious and definitely gives a little more feminine-focused vibe than a lot of litRPG.
The story takes place on Nexaria Nova – the largest moon orbiting the planet, Phangora. Nexaria Nova is home to one of the biggest role-playing game dungeons in the galaxy. Gamers from all around come visit this prime vacation spot to completely immerse themselves in the game of their choosing – there’s throwback arcade games, dungeon masters waiting to crank you through a campaign, history’s most popular video games, and an all-new virtual reality game released only to competition winners and their plus-ones.
AH! Doesn’t that sound fun? That’s all I’m giving away for now. I’m only JUST starting to write the actual meat and bones of the story. I’ve been plotting, planning and scheming for a few months. And I hit the overwhelm of “how the heck do I write this thing?” Writer’s block has hit in full force.
What do you find that helps? Any good tips or tricks? I’m currently trying a lot of free-association writing to just clear my brain, but I’m finding that just fills it all up again.
Anyway, that’s all for now.
Keeping it WTH-worthy,
-Kells-
